GT County & MAP to Host Capital Improvements Program Oct. 19

The Grand Traverse County Planning Commission is pleased to announce the upcoming Capital Improvement Programs (CIP) Workshop being conducted expressly for local governments, transportation agencies, institutional organizations, businesses, and non-profit groups in Grand Traverse County.

While certain communities are required to prepare a capital improvements program (CIP), a CIP can apply beyond local government to any organization with regular capital expenditures including businesses, institutional organizations, and non-profit groups. Make it a helpful, decision-making tool for your organization.

This program explains - from start to finish - everything you need to know to prepare and adopt a CIP, including: who should be involved in the process; the accounting and budgetary requirements of a CIP; how to tie the program into your infrastructure capacity; and how to handle controversial topics. It will also have an emphasis on energy management. 

Workshop fee:

Local units of government in Grand Traverse County (significantly reduced fee!):
·  $15.00 per person for any local official 
·  Group rate only $75.00 for five or more officials from one local unit in the County

For any transportation agency, institutional organization, business, or non-profit group in Grand Traverse County:
·  $25.00 per person.

Out-of-county representatives (who are also welcome to attend!):
·  $75.00 per person.

Cost includes workshop program, instructor, materials, and light refreshments.
